About John Hollingdale
Mr John Hollingdale has worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Central Middlesex Hospital in London since 1989 and during the last 20 years has specialised in surgical procedures involving the knee and hip.
Consultant Orthopadeic Surgeon His main area of interest and expertise is the surgical treatment of osteoarthritis in the knee joint. Not only does he perform more than 250 knee replacements every year, but owing to his experience he also carries out between 30 and 40 revisions of failed knee replacements. Mr Hollingdale additionally has a specialist interest in treating sporting injuries, including the repair of torn menisci and ruptured cruciate ligaments, performing between 50 and 60 ligament reconstructions each year. He is known for his proficiency in treating such sporting injuries and his previous patients include professional sportsmen from Arsenal Football Club and the London Irish rugby team.
Education and Professional Membership Mr John Hollingdale completed his orthopaedic training on the Northwest London and Stanmore rotation and since then he has been committed to maintaining his professional development. Besides this, for three years Mr Hollingdale served on the Council of the British Orthopaedic Association. He is additionally a lifelong member of the International Society of Technology and Arthroplasty (ISTA), and while president of this society in 2011, Mr Hollingdale arranged their Annual Congress in Dubai.
Mr Hollingdale is also dedicated to the training of medical students and surgeons, and this commitment includes training other surgeons throughout Europe on minimally invasive knee replacement.
